Future in Flight: A Milestone Moment for Deer Valley

Thank you to everyone who joined us on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at the top of Bald Mountain for Future in Flight, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to witness lift towers being flown in by Chinook helicopter for the new East Village Express Gondola. Once complete, this gondola will stretch nearly three miles, with 40 towers, 142 cabins, and a 31,700-foot haul rope, connecting Deer Valley East Village to Park Peak with a mid-station stop at Big Dutch. The 14.5-minute ride will transport up to 3,000 guests per hour.

More than 50 team members worked across four specialized crews to install towers, cross arms, and sheave assemblies (the wheels that guide the haul rope). When not in use, cabins will detach and be stored under Park Peak Lodge for protection and maintenance. With 10 new chairlifts and 100 new ski runs coming for the 2025–26 winter season, Deer Valley is on track to double in size. Enjoy a look back at the day’s highlights below.

From the top, you’re seamlessly connected to your Deer Valley favorites; just one chairlift away from iconic terrain on Empire, Lady Morgan, and Bald Mountain, one ski run from lunch at Silver Lake Lodge, and one lift away from a warm bowl of turkey chili at Snow Park. Or explore a whole new side of the mountain off Park Peak, including bold new runs like Redemption, Hellcat, and Nemesis, just a few of the 100 ski runs debuting as part of our expansion for the 2025-26 winter season.
